New Dye Could Diagnose Alzheimer's Earlier

A new finding could pave the way for diagnosing Alzheimer's at an earlier age.

Currently only an autopsy can confirm that a person has the disease, but researchers have found a special radioactive dye for PET scans that lights up a toxic protein in the brains of people believed to have the disease.

It's the same protein that shows up in an autopsy after they die.
