FDA Investigates Avandia

The FDA is looking at whether the diabetes drug Avandia should stay on the market.

Avandia used to be one of GlaxoSmithKline's best-selling drugs, but studies have linked it to an increased risk of heart attack.

Government scientists have said the company's own study to demonstrate the drug's safety is "seriously flawed."

A panel of outside experts will recommend if Avandia needs a stronger warning label or to be pulled from the market.
