In Gulf Shores, city officials are doing everything they can to make sure the air and water is safe.
The city is hiring a private company to test the sand and air.
Currently crews are cleaning oil from the sand, while most skimming boats are still docked due to rough surf.
In some areas, boom is being anchored along the beaches because it's being tossed around in the water.
Local officials say for now the clean-up is mostly cosmetic, but in the future they may have to haul in clean sand to get back to their pristine beaches.
