WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney is hospitalized in Washington, D.C., for more tests after going to his doctors because of discomfort.
Cheney, who is 69, has a long history of heart trouble dating back to age 37. But it's not clear if his discomfort is heart-related. A spokesman says Cheney is expected to be hospitalized over the weekend.
The former vice president had a mild heart attack in February. It was his fifth. He underwent a stress test and a heart catheterization. In 1988, Cheney had a heart bypass and two angioplasties, and in 2001 a special pacemaker was implanted in his chest. Two years ago, electric shock was used to restore a normal heart rhythm.
