Man on Flight Won't be Charged in Bomb Scare

DENVER (AP) - A law enforcement official says there will be no criminal charges against a Qatari (GUH'-tur-ee) diplomat who sparked a bomb scare Wednesday night by trying to sneak a smoke in a bathroom on a commercial flight from Washington to Denver.

The official wasn't authorized to discuss details of the case and therefore spoke on condition of anonymity.

Senior law enforcement officials who also spoke on condition of anonymity say no explosives were found on the man, and officials don't believe he was trying to harm anyone.

An Arab diplomat briefed on the matter identified the diplomat as Mohammed Al-Madadi.

The Transportation Security Administration issued a statement saying the passenger who caused the disturbance is still being interviewed.
