WASHINGTON (AP) - An aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
says Reid's wife isn't expected to need surgery.

Landra Reid, who is 69, is in serious condition after her
minivan was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on a suburban Virginia
highway.

Mrs. Reid suffered a broken back, broken neck and a broken nose.
Reid's daughter wasn't as seriously injured and is expected to be
released.

Police say an Ohio truck driver is charged with reckless driving
in the four-vehicle collision. He wasn't injured.

Virginia State Police say the Reid minivan was traveling
northbound on I-95 in stop-and-go traffic when it was hit. The
impact forced the minivan to rear-end a SUV, which in turn struck a
car.
