Can you spell "vaquero"?
This six-year-old can.
In fact, it's the word that she aced to become the youngest speller ever to
qualify for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
That's according to the event's record books -- kept since 19-93.
Lori Anne Madison of Virginia beat out 21 other kids in the Prince William County spelling bee last Friday, earning her a spot in the national bee.
Before her, the youngest speller on record to make the finals was 8.
By the way, "vaquero" is spelled V-A-Q-U-E-R-O.
