DAYTONA, Fla. (AP) -- Two of the four people injured when a dump truck crashed into their cars in Volusia County are being treated at the hospital with critical injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Russell Carroll was driving the truck Saturday when he failed to notice traffic in front of him had slowed.
His truck ran into the back of another car, then drove into the other lane and crashed into a second car.
The truck eventually stopped after striking several mailboxes and a power pole.
The Orlando Sentinel reports two people in the first car were taken to the hospital in Daytona with critical injuries. The driver of the second car had minor injuries.
Carroll also suffered minor injuries in the crash. FHP says he was ticketed for careless driving.
