Executives from Johnson & Johnson were on the hot seat in Washington today.

Lawmakers want to know why America's largest drug company did not issue a public recall of some of its drugs last year but instead had them secretly bought off store shelves.

Johnson and Johnson's Chief Executive started his testimony with an apology to his customers saying "There's absolutely no doubt we let them down."

Company officials say they're spending 100-million dollars to fix quality control problems at every plant and the medicines will be safe when they hit store shelves again soon.
