SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Lines of same-sex couples in California
hoping to be married today have been disappointed.
The same federal judge who struck down the state's ban on gay marriage last week says the marriages can resume.
But he'll give opponents until next Wednesday at 5 p.m. to get an appeals court ruling on whether the marriages should resume.
