This week’s major home video releases include the first season of the last Star Trek series to air, a look back at a historical presidency, a family comedy.
Here are some of the notable home video releases in the United States (Region 1) for the week of March 26th, 2013:
“Star Trek: Enterprise – Season One” (CBS Home Entertainment, Blu-Ray) - This series, “Enterprise”, takes place before the adventures of Captains Kirk or Picard, as humans take their first adventures into deep space. Starring Scott Bakula of quantum leap fame, the first season aired in 2001 on the United Paramount Network. The season one Blu-Ray contains all 26 episodes in high-definition, as well as retrospective documentary and interview with the cast and crew. A season two set is already in the works.
“Lincoln” (Dreamworks, DVD/Blu-Ray, PG-13) – A historic look back at the Republican president who battled through the Civil War and against slavery, “Lincoln” stars Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field. It was also directed by Steven Spielberg. It’s available on a special four-disc Blu-Ray set, a two-disc Blu-Ray or a conventional DVD release.
“Parental Guidance” (20th Century Fox, DVD/Blu-Ray, PG) – A family comedy starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, the movie follows their misadventures as they babysit 3 of their grandchildren. It will be available on both Blu-Ray and DVD.
