WTVY Web Wednesday
Every Wednesday, News 4 This Morning takes a look at an assortment of the stories from our show that viewers and readers are talking about on our webchannel and related social media.
A recent online trend has been discovered: women selling positive-result pregnancy tests online for $20 to $30. In the Craigslist listings for these tests, some of the sellers even say that they can be used as a prank or a way to influence a relationship. On News 4’s Facebook page, several commented on the story. Danielle Raffield said that those who are putting up those listings have a “Sick sense of humor. Lots of women would give anything for a positive test. This woman is exploitive.” And, Elaine McIntosh added that the practice is “Unbelievable. Play a trick on mom or dad? What a weird sense of humor.”
September has several major releases coming out for home video game consoles, including new installments in franchises like Rayman, FIFA and Grand Theft Auto. On Facebook, Tiffany Day responded to the question if any these games are interesting with the comment, “Kingdom hearts and GTA.. I have Both of those on ps2.”
September 3rd’s unofficial holiday was Skyscraper Day, a day to pay tribute to some of the tallest buildings across the planet. Following up on Tuesday’s segment on the holiday, the Morning Show featured more viewer’s picks of their favorite skyscrapers from Facebook. They include Haley Blocker, who says her favorite is the Tower of Americas in San Antonio, Texas. Shane Borders likes the CN Tower in Toronto, while Jason Barbaree simply responded “None.”
On Monday, News 4 This Morning shared viewer’s pictures of themselves, their family members, friends, and even pets getting ready for or enjoying the first full weekend of college football. In the segment above, you can see some additional viewer pictures that we shared featuring fans of Auburn, Alabama, and Florida.
And, Monday, the Morning Show featured the artwork of ShikariSpeeder (a.k.a. Nathan Barlow) and the Bronies, which included an “OC” or Original Character pony based on News 4 This Morning. Robyn Farmer responded to the picture we shared by saying, “I would like to know who these "Bronies" are and how to get in touch with them. I'm just a happy element of Honesty, looking for some other Elements to hang out with. Yeehaw.”
