After a 9-0 win over Chinese Taipei to open play in the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup, Team USA took on the team from the Netherlands.
And, the Americans were dominating from the beginning. Pitcher Martin Sementelli notched six strikeouts, while the offense from the Americans put up 10 runs in just the first two innings.
Four American players had two hits each. They were Donna Williams, Jessica Alfonso, Alexa Maldonado, Tamara Holmes, and Kendall Dawson.
In the end, Team USA scored a 17-0 win over the Netherlands, in a contest shortened to five innings because of the International Mercy Rule.
The Americans will next face Canada in a Wednesday contest.
