Stretch Armstrong came out in 1976 and was a toy from Kenner. It was an action figure of a muscled blonde man in shorts, with the most unique feature being that he could stretch up to four to five feet! Although new versions have come since then, the original is a collector's item, sometimes going for hundreds of dollars--if it can still actually stretch.

The Speak n' Spell was first released by the Texas Instruments company in 1978. It had a speech synthesizer, along with a keyboard and display, to allow children to hear the sounds of letters and words to teach them spelling. The Speak n' Spell went through several revisions throughout the 1980s and 1990s and even had spin-offs like the Speak n' Music and Speak n' Math.
