This Day in Movie History – April 18, 2003 – Holes Debuts

A live-action Disney movie based on a popular children's novel was released on this day in Movie History.

Holes was a novel originally penned by author Louis Sachar. Sachar would also write the screenplay to the movie adaptation released by Walt Disney pictures on April 18th, 2003.

Starring Shia LaBoeuf, Sigourney Weaver and Jon Voight, the film focused on the character of Stanley Yelnats IV who is sentenced to attend a camp where they dig the titular holes.

The film made over $70 million in the box office.
