The 30-minute show debuted on the ABC Network and starred Melissa Joan Hart, previously the star of another hit comedy show, Clarissa Explains it All.

Hart played Sabrina, who discovers she has magical powers when she turns sixteen. The series had many fantasy elements, such as a talking cat named Salem.

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch originates from a comic book character that made its debut in an Archie comic from 1962.

The sitcom starring Hart lasted four years on ABC and another three on the WB Network before ending in 2003.

To date, the show has been completely released on DVD home video. During the fourth season of the live-action show, an animated Sabrina series also starring Hart was produced and lasted for 65 episodes.
