Guns can be a decisive topic for many but most people agree it's a valuable skill to know how to use one in a dangerous situation.
Men and women gathered today at the Homefront defense range just south of Dothan. Firearm instructors were there to teach everybody about one and two-handed shooting, shooting on the move and loading and reloading. Organizers say it's all about educating people on proper ways of self-defense.
"The best fight is the one that you don't get into. You know it's the one where you don't have to use your firearm so if you can see trouble coming before it gets there, that's the best thing so we've been teaching alertness, coolness, decisiveness and being prepared," said Reid Henrichs, Tactical Responses Director of Training.
The 2-day course is 40% lecture. Those in the class got to shoot close to 750 rounds each.
