Just over a dozen children nationwide have died from being left in hot cars. Parents and doctors in the Wiregrass are appalled that someone could forget their child is in the backseat.
"Their body is still developing their ability to handle different changes in their environment. At that stage, their body doesn't regulate their temperature as well," Dr. Scott Everett, M.D. said.
