This week is Backyard Games Week, and every day News 4 This Morning is taking a look at a pair of popular ways to play outside every day.
Beanbag Toss, or Cornhole, is a popular game involving throwing bags filled with a substance—such as corn—into a target area. In one set of rules, if it goes into the target, more points are given than if it just simply lands on the platform. Beanbag toss platforms can be purchased at stores, or can be homemade. In the US, the American Cornhole Organization will be hosting the IX World Championships of Cornhole in Charleston, West Virginia in mid-July.
Volleyball is a staple of the Olympics, in both arena and beach variety, but it can also be competed in the backyard. The basics of volleyball involve serving a ball over a net while trying to make it hit the ground before the other player can return it to your side.
