Geneva County Officials Were Watching Potential of Severe Weather

Geneva County officials have been keeping an eye on recent weather since it has been in the forecast.

Shortly after 9 on the morning of April 8, 2014, a line of thunderstorms moved into Geneva dumping large amounts of rain in a short span of time.

Geneva County officials have been keeping an eye on recent weather since it has been in the forecast.

Geneva County Engineer Justin Barfield says that the county has gotten more than 120 inches of rain in the last 15 months.

With more than 600 miles of dirt roads to maintain, Barfield says his crews can't catch a break.

Barfield adds that the storms during the week of April 7th did not cause any major transportation problems in Geneva County.
