Spelling- some of us have it, some of us are just thankful for spell check!

But a 14 year old Jackson County girl is a walking, talking, spelling machine.

Meet Summer Hayes- she's an 8th grader at Cottondale High School and the recent winner of the regional spelling bee in Tallahassee.

Now, she's on her way to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee to represent the big bend region of Florida.

Hayes has participated in several spelling bees- but never made it to this level.

The national competition is mid may, just outside of Washington D.C. in Maryland.
