Some fans dressed up as their favorite fictional characters for the Fanaticon, a comic and genre convention taking place in Dothan.
At the Fanaticon convention in Dothan, several people dressed up in costumes as their favorite characters. Taylor Brown shared several pictures of that costume play--or cosplay--with News 4 This Morning. Click here to see that segment!
The sci-fi experience was in the Wiregrass this past weekend, if you were at Dothan’s Clarion Inn and Suites Saturday afternoon.
You probably spotted some super heroes and zombies walking around.
The event is part of Dothan’s first ever Fanaticon.
Hundreds turned out dressed as their favorite sci-fi and comic book characters.
Visitors from across the Tri-State area say it’s a fun opportunity to meet other enthusiasts living nearby.
Lindsey West says, “This is a really big deal for Dothan just because normally we have to travel four, six, eight hours to find a convention where we can express ourselves as costume makers, and as just find people that love the things that we're interested in and it's really hard to find places to go where you can express yourself like you want to.”
Fanaticon featured local author Jason Woodham, and even Alabama’s Ghostbusters.
