An array of pet models in different styles roamed the runway in Beijing at the 2014 Summer-Winter Chinese Pet Fashion Show on Thursday.
More than 20 well-dressed pet dogs showed up at the fashion show to display the avant-garde pet fashion this year in China.
Thursday's pet fashion show was part of the ongoing 2nd China Pet Groomer Industry Conference (CPGIC) which began on Wednesday in Beijing.
The dog models showed off their cuteness in the dresses being carefully designed by Chinese pet groomers as the visitors on sides of the runway clattered the shutters to capture their chic looks.
One pet groomer dressed up a little white pet dog in a rock-and-roll style, and has caught the attention of many pet lovers.
"This is a Bichon Frise. And I think the young people can relate to this kind of style. It looks like a doll and I've designed the style based on a cartoon character. I trimmed its hair on body so it's easier for the pet owner to take care of it. The style also matches all kinds of clothing. The colorful hair on its head is very dazzling and pretty," said the pet groomer.
"The pet industry in China has been developing rapidly in recent years. It developed from providing basic nursing such as bathing and hairdressing to more creative services. They can make pet dogs prettier and more attractive," said Wang Zheng, executive director of Beijing Showtime co. ltd.
Nearly 600 pet groomers, pet store owners as well as professionals from pet groomer training agencies have come together at the three-day conference to exchange views on the further development of the pet industry in China.
