The "Wee Can Fight Obesity" program is a state funded initiative to promote health and physical activity.

Senator Harri Anne Smith and Representative Donnie Chesteen stopped by a physical education class at Wicksburg Monday morning.

They got a chance to see the students in action; dancing to different songs on the Wii game console.

Officials say it's a great way to fight the obesity statistic in Alabama.

"The kids really get a great workout and don't realize it. They're having a wonderful time. They go home in the afternoon and play computer games but now they want to go home and practice so they'll be really good when they come to physical education, " says Senator Harri Anne Smith.

Representative Chesteen says Highlands Elementary in Dothan is next on the list to participate in the "Wee Can Fight Obesity program.
