About a restaurant in Israel that will give you fifty percent off your food bill if you give them your cell phone while you sit down to eat. On Facebook, we asked our viewers if they would give up their phone for the discount. Tony Reeder says, “Mine goes on silent when eating out.” Leon N’ Lorraine James responded that she would give up her phone “[i]n a heart beat, it is so annoying to be having a meal and cell phones ringing all around you, having to hear every ones PERSONAL business.” And, Loretta Piasecki says that “if I'm eating by myself--keep it. If I'm with someone give up the phone.”
November 20th's unofficial holiday was “Name Your PC Day” It was a chance to give a name to your computer...and in the video above, you can see some more creative names that viewers and followers gave their computers.
Earlier in the week, we shared viewer pictures of trees and decorations for Christmas that were put up before Thanksgiving. In this installment of Web Wednesday, we share even more pictures!
Over the weekend, fans of the long-running British science-fiction series "Doctor Who" got an all-new TV special. This special celebrated the 50th anniversary of the series involving time travel, aliens and much more. On Facebook, we found there are a lot of fans of the show in the Wiregrass. Some of those viewers shared pictures or told of their love of the show. You can find out more in the clip above.
And, there was another television event that had many passionate fans glued to their television sets. That was a two-part episode of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” aired on the Hub network Saturday. Many fans of the show--Bronies--enjoyed the premiere, which kicks off a 26 episode season. The article went viral on twitter, with an astounding 125 retweets and 146 favorites from Bronies all around the world--from Germany to Norway to France to the United States. It was also shared by several fan-sites from the community.
