WTVY Web Wednesday
Every Wednesday, News 4 This Morning takes a look at an assortment of the stories from our show that viewers and readers are talking about on our webchannel and related social media.
A recent survey from carinsurancecomparison.com named Alabama and Louisiana one of the five states with the worst drivers. These states were judged on findings such as citations, vehicle problems, and other categories. On Facebook, there were a wide variety of reactions to the findings of this particular survey. Rick Townley replied, “From having to navigate the Dothan Circle everyday I have to agree, though I believe Florida still holds the lead on most aggressive drivers...” Heather Dunne commented, “All you have to do is drive down 231 to know that. Florida isn't much better, I am pretty sure they round out the top ten somewhere.” And, Mark and Tonya Rich added, “It has to be Dothan! They can't drive nor walk. Try walking around the mall. You will get run over there as well.”
Christmas is seven days away as of this edition of Web Wednesday! Recently, News 4 This Morning shared some Christmas photos from viewers of their family members (or themselves in throwback pictures) with Santa Claus! We have even more of those pictures to share for this Web Wednesday, which you can see in the video above!
The unofficial holiday of December 17th was National Maple Syrup Day. Maple syrup is made from the sap of the maple tree. Several of our followers on Twitter told us what foods they enjoy the most with maple syrup. OneBrokePony replied, “Mostly breakfast foods. Maple's one of my favorite flavors. I always go with Grade B Maple for the stronger flavor.” A Wintry Spectacle said, “French vanilla ice cream with maple syrup on it is delicious!” And, Buttons added, “Normal waffles...not those Belgian Waffles. ;)”
A bright full moon has been shining over the country in the past couple of days. In the video above, you can see some viewer pictures of our planet’s only natural satellite at its brightest!
As part of our Morning Show Year in Review, we looked back at the Bronies. These are the passionate teenage and adult fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This recent animated series which airs on the Hub Network is praised by its fans for many reasons from animation to characters to music to humor and more. The article was, as of the time of this segment, the most popular on the entire webchannel of WTVY.com! On our article online, a user named Dj Ponpheonix said, “Thanks news 4 for really taking the time in several of your news casts to take interest and really express the growing fanbase as im also a part of it as well. its because of this fanbase that I have learned how to produce music, play keyboard/piano, and have had the great fortune of opportunities to meet so many amazingly intelligent and aspiring people of all ages who see the show not just as a show itself, but as a growing leading movement of social reform for the better in my opinion…Big Big shout out to ya'll for being very courteous and having taken the time to really express all of what you found out about the fandom in a very collective and respective manner. Hearts out to all of you [there] at news 4.”
