Every Wednesday, News 4 This Morning takes a look at an assortment of the stories from our show that viewers and readers are talking about on our webchannel and related social media.

Saturday, at the Clarion inn and suites in Dothan the first ever Fanaticon took place. It was a convention for fans of everything from science fiction to animation to comic books and more and visitors from all across the Tri-states attended. In fact, Phillip Chalker of Fanatix, who organized the convention, said, “It was an unreal, unexpected, and highly authentic turnout!! Dothan is full of great people from all walks of life! The event and most of the groups that were there donates a portion of proceeds to Charity whilst giving out over 2000-2500 dollars in prizes to folks who came to the events!” Cricket Strom who attended the event commented, “It was so much fun. We had a great time!” And, Jill West agreed, “It was so much fun. A great time had by all.”

This week is National Book Awareness Week and on Tuesday, we talked specifically about children's books. These included our favorites and the picks of many of our viewers, and we shared even more of your comments and feedback. Tina Tyler responded, “My favorite children's book when I was younger is so unconventional. My father has had his own business now for many years. The FedEx man that regularly brought my father's packages gave me a children's book about how a package gets from one place to another through FedEx...and oh I loved it so much! Other than that it was Calvin and Hobbes!” Allison Hamner said, “The story of Mrs. Suzzie Squirrel. I have fond memories of my great grandmother reading this to me when I would visit her. Now I read it to my son.” And, Will Styczinski commented, “Good Night Moon was probably my favorite. I also loved Mog the Forgetful Cat.”

And, staying with children’s books during National Book Awareness Week, on Tuesday, we reported on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic books from author G.M. Berrow. The story was re-tweeted by Bronies from across the country and Berrow herself thanked us for the shout-out!

Last week, The Weather Channel debuted an all-new set of graphics, including some that are on the TV 24 hours a day, even through other programming and commercials. They also plan to expand their severe weather coverage. Many of you shared your current thoughts of the channel on Facebook with us. That includes Myra Edmondson who says that “when I need to know, there is always a story on and not the weather.” Tammy Long adds that, “The Weather Channel needs to be just that, focus on WEATHER. If I want to watch all of those reality shows there are plenty (too many) on every other channel. Bring us back what we want to see, Weather. Thank you.” And, Lou Anne Kramer responded that she’s “Not a big fan of the new presentations. Please show maps straight on the angle shots can't read or see the whole map. Please stop standing in front of the Southeast part of the country. We.are interested in our weather.”

And, they’re a segment that that the Morning Show and its webpage is known for: Morning Moments. The video segment collects off-air and on-air moments that are funny, humorous and/or offbeat! The latest installment, the third episode of November, was liked by over 20 viewers combined on Facebook. Jerry Watson is a Morning Moments fan, saying, “"love it!!! you all are awesome!!!" And, Shirley Bingear agrees, commenting, “"Love you guys! You all are so funny.”
