Unofficial Holiday of December 9th: National Pastry Day

They date back to the ancient Egyptians: pastries. And, December the 9th is an unofficial holiday celebrating the popular desserts of all kinds.

Most pastries are made with a dough combined with fat or shortening and they can come in many different kinds.

Some examples of popular pastries include the bear claw, the apple strudel, croissants, pies, and even toaster pastries like Pop-Tarts.
