Unique & Unofficial Holiday of September 9th – Teddy Bear Day

They're a staple of childhood to cuddle and care for—the teddy bear, and today's unofficial holiday celebrates the plush animals.

Named for U.S. President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, the Teddy Bear became popular in the early 20th century.

September 9th is unofficially Teddy Bear Day.

In addition to being a common toy for children, they are also exchanged in romantic situations to signify love.

They come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Some teddy bear museums and festivals take place across the world.
