Tumbleweeds Bury Driveways, Roads, Cars in Colorado Community

Tumbleweeds are rolling through town, stacking up along fences, cars and homes leaving some residents without a way to escape.

Residents report not being able to get out of their driveway, and in some cases, their homes.

KKTV 11 News is talking to city and county officials to see what they are doing to clean up streets and along highways.

In other parts of southern Colorado blowing dust is the problem.

Highway 287 is closed Limon and the Oklahoma boarder because visibility was so low. State Patrol said there were multiple accidents on that stretch of highway involving people who were on the highway before it shut down.

Other residents reported problems like fences blowing down and shingles coming of roofs. In one northeast Colorado Springs neighborhood, a trampoline blew into the street, according to police.
