While one tropical storm gains strength in the Atlantic, two storms are expected to weaken in the Pacific.
Arthur gained strength overnight, about 90 miles to the east of Cape Canaveral in Florida. It currently had sustained winds of 60 mile per hour winds. A Hurricane Watch has been issued for parts of the Carolinas, in advance of a potential landfall.
In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Elida became post-tropical early Wednesday morning. And, meanwhile, Tropical Storm Douglas is slowly moving away from Mexico with sustained winds of 45 miles per hour.
