Easter commonly falls in the month of April, and so did a modern computer-animated film about the holiday.

Hop is an animated film released on April 1st, 2011 that combines live-action and computer animation.

The story of Hop centers around the son of the Easter Bunny who wants to do something else, and a human who wants to follow in the Easter Bunny's footsteps. It features the voice talents of Hank Azaria and Hugh Laurie along with live-action roles featuring Russell Brand and David Hasselhoff.

It opened at #1 on the Friday that it was released in theaters and was nominated for an Annie award for character animation in a live-action production.
