On April 16, 2003, a martial arts themed film called Bulletproof Monk was released into American theaters.

The film starred Chow Yuan-Fat along with Mako and Seann William Scott.

In the film, Scott plays someone from the streets who is trained to protect a scroll.

The film was not a great success, coming up 15 million dollars short of its 52 million dollar budget.
