It's an animated series that has endured since its debut in 1999, and it continues on with an all-new television special set to air on Monday, November 11th.

Spongebob Squarepants was created by Stephen Hillenberg and made its debut in 1999. Starring the voices of Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown and Rodger Bumpass it has been one of Nickelodeon's most successful and enduring animated series. Now in its ninth season, it has spawned feature films, video games, lots of merchandise and more.

“Spongebob, You're Fired!” is the eleventh episode of season 9, and will air on Monday, November 11th, 2013. In this episode, billed as a special by the network, Spongebob deals with unemployment after being fired by his boss, Mr. Krabs. Spongebob has been fired for some duration or another in previous episodes, such as Season 1's “Karate Choppers.”

More episodes for season nine have already been confirmed, which will take the series past the 200 episode mark. The first eight seasons are available in season sets on DVD.
