Recently, the Roses retail outlet re-opened in Ozark, but aside from the store, the flowering variety of roses are on their way to another Wiregrass community as well.

On Thursday, Samson work crews uprooted old crepe myrtle trees in the median of Main Street. Beginning Friday, the Garden Club will plant nearly 50 rose bushes.

On Thursday, Samson work crews uprooted old crepe myrtle trees in the median of Main Street.

Beginning Friday, the Garden Club will plant nearly 50 rose bushes.

In the 1920's and 30's, Samson was known as the city of “One Million Roses.”

The project is not costing taxpayer dollars. Instead, the Samson’s Garden Club is paying for the rose bushes themselves.
