A large mass of rain soaked parts of the Wiregrass on Friday, followed by a second line of storms that moved through on Saturday morning.
On Friday, heavy rain soaked much of southern Alabama. The rain was moderate to heavy and sustained for several hours in some locations. In a six-hour period, the Troy Municipal Airport recorded two inches of rain. The Dothan airport recorded over an inch from the morning hours on Friday into the early afternoon.
On Saturday, a line of strong storms swept through in the overnight and early morning hours. This line weakened as it moved into central and eastern Alabama below severe limits, but still had storms that produced lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain. From this event, the rain totals weren't as significant, but places like Troy and Dothan saw totals of a quarter of an inch and nearly three-quarters of an inch respectively.
