Progress 53 - filled with trash and discarded gear - undocked from the International Space Station's Zvezda service module Monday (6/9) at about 9:30 EDT.

The cargo ship, loaded with trash from the space station, will move to a location away from the station for an engine firing that will send the craft on a course to burn up upon reentry into Earth’s atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean.

The undocking will clear the aft port of the Zvezda Service Module for the arrival in August of the final European Automated Transfer Vehicle cargo ship, ATV-5.
