The woman who filed a harassment lawsuit against Paula Deen says her suit "has never been about the n-word."
Lisa Jackson, who is white, provided a statement by her lawyer, Matthew Billips.
Jackson said her lawsuit is about Deen's "disrespect and degradation of people that she deems to be inferior."
The former manager at Deen's restaurants in savannah, Georgia, is suing Deen and Deen's brother, Bubba Hier, for sexual and racial harassment.
Deen has denied Jackson’s accusations but has apologized for using the n-word years ago -- which came to light in a deposition in the case.
