One of those was one of our "this day in history" segments...this one took a look back at the day the Nintendo’s arcade game, Donkey Kong, launched in Japan. Featuring the character who'd later be known as Mario, it was a huge hit and the character endures to this day.
This next one is actually multiple stories, but with the same theme: tropical storms and hurricanes. Several of our most-read articles involved tropical storms like Dorian and Flossie, in both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. The story about how someone created a more realistic Barbie, based on average measurements of a teenage girl attracted a lot of attention! Several of our viewers commented that Barbie should stay the same while others said the new design helped to send a positive message to young girls.
A woman in Georgia got a shock when she came home to find a seven-foot tall, retro Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in her yard. It turns out her landlord was keeping it as an oversized collector's item.
And, the popularity of My Little Pony's current generation, called G4 by some fans, continues with the release of the film Equestria Girls. This film features the main character from the hit animated series, Friendship is Magic, venturing into the human world to take back a magic crown. It had a limited release, including Dothan, and will be coming to home video soon.
