It was a scene straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie: birds attacking people in downtown Davenport, Iowa.
Officer Robert Bytnar of the Davenport Police said, "Have you ever gone on a call like this before - Nope, can't say I have."
Police were called out to the corner of 2nd and Scott streets around 10:30 Wednesday morning to a pair of redwing blackbirds swooping down and pecking passerbys.
Police and animal control spent about an hour trying to catch the birds with nets.
Locals say the whole ordeal was quite scary.
Lesley Lueders, who Called 911, commented, "I don't know what his problem is except he's territorial, he's got an attitude and he's going to hurt anything and everything that comes in range of this area right over there."
Officials on scene later realized that baby birds were in a nearby bush next to the sidewalk.
They collected the babies and moved them away from the street, drawing the angry birds away as well.
