Gameshow Network, a.k.a. GSN, is adding a few new classic gameshows to its lineup starting on December 2nd.
Although the cable specialty network has already been airing a select set of episodes of Sale of the Century, it is adding the syndicated version, which began in 1985. It previewed the series with a marathon during Thanksgiving Week and will be starting with the ninth episode of the series on Monday. In Sale of the Century, hosted by previous Card Sharks host Jim Perry, contestants answer trivia questions to accumulate money to buy prizes.
Longtime gameshow host staple Bill Cullen hosted Blockbusters from 1980 to 1982. Repeats of this version have previously aired on Gameshow Network and will return to air on December 2nd. In the show, a solo contestant battles against a family pair to connect a line of hexagonal letters. Each letter is gained by correctly answering a question related to that letter.
“New” to the network is Shop 'Til You Drop, and repeats of the 1990s gameshow begin airing from the beginning starting on Monday, December 2nd as well. Hosted by Pat Finn, this gameshow was set in a fictional mall and involved a variety of stunts and trivia in an attempt to win cash and prizes.
Other classic gameshows still airing on the network include the $25K & $100K Pyramid hosted by Dick Clark, Press Your Luck hosted by Peter Tomarken and Match Game hosted by Gene Rayburn.
