Neighbors say last night wasn't the first time they've seen police cars in front of the home but the family pretty much kept to themselves.

Around 5:40 PM, the Dothan Police Department responded to the 1100 Block of South Alice Street for a domestic violence complaint.

Once they arrived, they learned that 39-year-old Rebecca Jackson had been abducted by her ex-husband 45 year old Willie Charles Toney.

The investigation led law enforcement to the Bellwood Community in Geneva County.

At 9:15 PM, officers took Willie Charles Toney into custody and found Jackson’s vehicle near Highway 40 in Geneva County.

Shortly after, police found Jackson’s body in a field, a mile away from where they took Toney into custody.

Jackson's older sister, Suzanne Maddox came down from Montgomery last night to take care of Jackson’s two children, a 12 and 14 year old.

Maddox wants justice for her sister and awareness for others going through similar situations.

"If you feel unsafe, if you have children that are involved and they feel unsafe by all means do what is necessary. File the paper work so you can have a paper trail in order to, so it will stand in court so justice can be served," said Suzanne Maddox, the victim's sister.
