Do You Remember...Circuit City?

It was one of the leading electronic superstores of the 80s and 90s, but as of this decade, Circuit City is no more.

Circuit City originated from a series of stores that began in 1949, and came into its on in the early to mid 1980s. There were over 550 stores at its peak.

The chain was known for slogans such as "Circuit City: Where Service is State of the Art!"

Circuit City offered a variety of electronics in large stores ranging from televisions and video players to video games and movies. For a time, the franchise also offered large appliances like washers and dryers, but phased those out in the early 2000s.

However, competition like Best Buy and other economic factors led to a decline in the franchise, and by 2009, all of the Circuit City stores were closed. This included the Dothan location.

For a time after the bankruptcy, the Circuit City name lived on through an online retailer, although that name was dropped in late 2012.
