McDonald's attempt to market a new hamburger to adults in the mid-90s, without much success, leading a flop and a discontinued sandwich.

In the mid-90s, the popular quick service restaurant chain, McDonald's wanted to appeal to adults with a new line of sandwiches. These included some that are still around in some form such as the Crispy Chicken Deluxe, but also included the Arch Deluxe.

The Arch Deluxe was a quarter-pound beef sandwich with other toppings that ranged from tomato and onions to peppered bacon and a "Chef's sauce" made of mustard and mayonnaise.

The burger even had an advertisement campaign that was aired at adults, as well as discount coupons specifically for the sandwich.

It was eventually discontinued and is no longer sold in the United States, although it can be found in Russia and France as the "Royal Deluxe" burger.
