China: Ostrich Disrupts Rush-hour Traffic

An ostrich that escaped from a local zoo disrupted traffic on busy rush-hour streets on Tuesday (May 28) night in China's southern Fujian province, state media reported.

Surveillance video captured footage of the ostrich running in front of cars at around 7 PM local time, according to China's state broadcaster CCTV.

Despite being hit by a car on two separate occasions, the ostrich escaped unharmed, the broadcaster said.

The animal made it across at least four streets before it was caught by police and zoo employees. CCTV says it is now back at the local zoo.
