When a four-year-old California boy with mild autism was attacked by a dog, his rescuer was the one family member no one expected it to be.
The family's cat, Tara, quickly jumped the attacking dog and chased it away.
The boy's mother, Erika Triantafilo, was nearby watering some plants. She said before she could even respond the cat jumped the much larger dog, chasing it away before coming back to check on the youngster.
Jeremy needed stitches on his leg, but his whole family is glad the injury wasn't worse. And the boy's father, Roger Triantafilo, said that protective behavior shows Tara has a family mindset.
