My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fans continue to support a comic, plan future fan conventions and raise money for charity!

The comic series based on the animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, continues to see success. The ninth issue, released in July, sold just over 35 thousand copies, beating out big name competition from Marvel and DC such as Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and Teen Titans. The sixth issue of the "Micro" series, which focuses on individual characters, sold over 24 thousand, still beating multiple X-Men titles. Future issues of both Pony series are still in the works.

News 4 previously reported about the GalaCon My Little Pony fan convention that recently took place in Germany. Not only could Bronies meet fellow fans and talent from the show, purchase merchandise, and listen to panels about the show, they could also help a charitable cause. In partnership with the Your Siblings charity organization, Bronies helped to fund an orphanage for children in Uganda. Through a combination of donations and a charity auction, over $15,500 was raised for the cause! This not helped to completely fund the orphanage, but also partially funded a Guest House as well.

And, more fan conventions across the world are taking place this weekend. BronyCAN will taking place in Vancouver, Canada where Friendship is Magic is produced. Through August 24th and 25th, fans can meet talent from the show, participate in a charity auction, play games with fellow fans, and even take place in a voice acting contest judged by some of the actors themselves! Meanwhile, starting Friday in Manchester, England, BUCK will kick off. They will also have talent from the show, some through Skype and some live and in person, auctions, signings, a music event and more. If you're attending one of these, check out the sidebar to see how you can share your convention photos and videos with us!
