There have been major fan conventions taking place across the world celebrating one specific animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And, another fan convention took place in Texas over the second weekend of November 2013.

This convention was called Nightmare Nights, named after the fictitious Halloween-like holiday introduced in the hit animated series. It took place in Dallas and began on Friday, November the 8th and lasted through Sunday, November the 10th.

Fans were able to attend panels featuring talent from the show such as voice actors, writers, directors, and animators. There were also musical performances, panels related to fan works, vendors selling merchandise, gaming and more. Some fans dressed in costumes based on characters from the show. There was even a wedding proposal at the convention!

In addition, according to the official Twitter account of Nightmare Nights, over $9,000 was raised for the Saint Jude's Children Research Hospital and over $3,000 for a Texas food bank.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has attracted a passionate fanbase of teenagers and adults, both male and female, since its premiere in 2010. The series has been praised by Bronies, one name for the fans of the series, for its animation, writing, characters, optimistic setting and music. A sizable number of Bronies create art, fan fiction, crafts, music, and even original animations and more based on the series. The fourth season begins November 23rd, 2013 on the Hub Network, where it has aired since its debut.
