An Australian fisherman got far 'more' than he bargained for ...when he hooked a 'marlin' off the coast of Cairns in far north Queensland.
Footage of the catch and fright of the day is going viral.
Bill McDonnell was reeling in the Marlin and what happened next was unreal.
As Bill tries to land the fish, a deckhand darts about, also dragging on the line.
Within seconds, about 140 kilos (308 lbs) of thrashing Marlin is on board.
But the fish isn't finished, it's all hands on deck except for the bloke being chased , then it's man overboard.
Then a swim to survive the sharks which often follow the fish.
He can laugh now , but Bill came close.
Bill and his wife Sally run a charter boat company, and although she sees the funny side, her sympathies are with the fish.
The fish was released alive as Bill now has a tale to tell.
And the jumping decky? He's at sea, keeping an eye out for a Marlin with his name on it.
