Facebook users were faced with another notable outage on Friday morning that lasted over an hour.
Just before 9:30am, when attempting to share more stories on our News 4 This Morning page on Facebook, the social media site refused to load past the bare minimum. No posts showed up and both profile pictures and cover photos were blank. The main feed was operational, but loading slowly.
Going to Twitter, which was operational at the time, at 9:26, we asked, “It looks like there may be another #Facebook outage or #disruption this morning! Is it working for you now--especially #pages?” Just a minute later, Leah Singer of San Diego responded, “NO! Thanks for posting on Twitter to find out what's going on.”
Two minutes later, Mandomommy, who had helped provide us with information on a previous Facebook disruption, added, “My regular newsfeed loads fine, but my "Pages" won't load at all :(“ From Twitter, she then shared a screencap from “Downrightnow,” which showed a “likely service disruption” was in progress.
That disruption continued through 10:30am, but seemed to be fixed by 11:33am, when we able to load our pages completely and post items once again. This was backed up by “Standing Leaf” from Montreal, who added at 11:40am Central that Facebook was “working fine for me!”
